Al Basha Göteborg
About This Spot
Stepping into Al Basha Göteborg is like entering a quiet corner of warmth amid the steady rhythm of Alekärrsgatan. The space carries a gentle hum—soft conversations mingling with the rich aroma of freshly brewed Turkish coffee and the sweet scent of pastries warming behind the glass display. It’s a place where time slows just enough to savor simple pleasures, whether alone with a good book or sharing a moment with friends.
The atmosphere embraces a relaxed neighborhood charm with a subtle Middle Eastern soul woven through every detail. Soft lighting highlights the carefully arranged treats, inviting guests to explore beyond the familiar by indulging in textures and flavors that hint at stories from lands afar. Here, the experience is as much about curiosity and discovery as it is comfort.
Behind the counter, the staff’s quiet attentiveness feels personal rather than transactional, welcoming both first-timers and those who return often for the distinctive cakes and pastries that have become something of a local treasure. The cakes feel like a thoughtful celebration on each plate—perfectly balanced between tradition and gentle innovation—and the coffee carries both strength and a softness that invites lingering.
Whether it’s the delicate pull of a kunafa or the tender crumb of a birthday cake carefully crafted to mark a special occasion, Al Basha Göteborg offers moments that feel thoughtfully made, not hurried. In this little haven, the familiar ritual of café life mingles effortlessly with the joy of discovering a taste or texture that resonates beyond the ordinary.

AlBasha Göteborg is my go-to when I’m craving traditional baklava Göteborg or want to try halal baklava - بقلاوة حلال في غوتنبرغ. I also love their design tårta cake services — got a cake made for my studentfest and it was picture perfect. The middle eastern bakery Göteborg scene doesn’t get better than this.

I love Albasha Kunafa so yummy. The place is nice and arranged well and the smell of the coffee is strong. I ordered 2 pice of Kunafa for takeaway about 99 kr. The staff were cooperative and friendly. I will come back again and again.

The crepes and waffles here are out of this world – perfectly soft on the inside. Each bite is full of flavor, and the toppings are always fresh and generous. You can really tell they use high-quality ingredients. Whether you’re in the mood for something sweet or fruity, they have the perfect combination. The presentation is beautiful, and the staff are always friendly and welcoming. Highly recommended for anyone who loves top-notch desserts!
